OUR STORY

PURPLE JOURNEY SO FAR

Purple Real Estate Income PLC (PREIP) was founded in 2014 and is a specialist investment firm committed to providing breakthrough products and services in real estate, e-commerce, media & advertising and entertainment underpinned by supply/demand imbalances across burgeoning sectors.

In 2016, Purple’s iconic Maryland Mall commenced operations, introducing a modern and world-class experience to mainland Lagos, an underserved community with a lack of high-quality consumer lifestyle offerings. Purple’s entry into the market provided aspirational consumers with a place to shop-eat-play with confidence in the products and services offered.

As a testament to Purple’s success, the Mall attracted 1 million visits within first 6 months and 90% let within 6 months of commencement.

In 2020, Purple broke ground on Purple Lekki, an upcoming mixed-use development strategically located on the popular Freedom Way in Lekki.

In 2021, Nano, the development that sits atop of PurpleLekki announced the 100% sale of its 157 units.

In the same year, as part of its capital expansion plans, the company issued bonus shares, conducted 2 private placements, and successfully issued a NGN5bn Sukuk bond.

Today, Purple REIP has five subsidiaries: Maryland Mall Limited, Purple Proptech Limited, Lekki Retailtainment, Cible Media Limited, and Purple Asset Managers Limited.

Looking ahead, Purple is developing a series of pipelines projects across commercial, residential, health and student housing sectors across the country.

The company’s portfolio includes Purple Maryland, Redwork Terraces and Bishopsgate Residences; with other projects such as Purple TV, Purple Living.

In March 2022, Purple REIP merged with Purple Real Estate Development Company, to drive the next phase of its growth plan - accelerating the pace and scale at which it provides targeted, premium and affordable lifestyle offerings in strategic locations across Nigeria

The combined entity enhances Purple’s ability to scale the business and access appropriate financing to fund a strong pipeline of new projects, expand current services and better deliver against the growing demand for experience-driven solutions that meet the evolving needs of how communities now live and work.

Purple Real Estate Income Limited (PREIP), the merged entity, is currently pursuing registration as a REICO with SEC, to grant it PLC status.
